The Puerto Rico didn't have an answer today for pitcher Romano Gonzalez and the Dominican Republic in the 4-0 loss. He didn't give up a hit and totaled 12 strikeouts and no walks in an outstanding outing at The Sandlot.
He told SION reporters after the no-hit game, "Everything was working today. I had excellent location and great movement on my pitches. Good things happen when all of it comes together like that."
His catcher said, "His fastball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed."
The Puerto Rico skipper joked, "No comment. I'm speechless after that performance. I'm going to be as silent as our bats were today...except to say I hope this leads to a big contract for Gonzalez in another league."
|  | Friday, December 10th, 1982: Dominant Dominguez Gives South America Goose Eggs! Fresco Dominguez of the Puerto Rico put the clamps on the opposition and held the South America scoreless in a 1-hit whitewash.
"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said the South America skipper after the 8-0 loss.
Dominguez was on target most of the game and finished with 2 strikeouts and no walks.
