Newspapers in California and Morgantown reported that the Kodiaks have reached a deal sending 25-year old catcher Shelby Houck to the Mohawks for $280,000 in cash.
Houck boasts a lifetime batting average of .268 with 134 hits, 5 homers, 56 runs scored and 53 RBIs.

The Morgantown Mohawks have finalized a deal with All Star-caliber closer Jon Cleary that will extend his stay in Morgantown at least 3 years and will pay out $32,370,000.
Cleary has earned 282 saves since he came up. He has logged 422 innings with 433 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.05. In his career he has a 28-27 won-lost record.

 | Friday, September 28th, 1984: Virginia's Arredondo in Shutout Victory
Joe Arredondo of the Virginia Colonials was in command from start to finish in his 10-0 shutout win over the Morgantown Mohawks. He struck out 4, walked 1 and allowed 2 hits.
"I felt strong the entire game," Arredondo said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
Arredondo has started 33 times this year, pitched 182.1 innings, fanned 128 batters and walked 84. His current record is 8 wins and 15 losses with a 4.34 ERA.
