| Breaking News |  | Monday, October 15th, 1984: Guardamagni Signs 5-Year Extension with Los Lunas
Reports began circulating several days ago that Donato Guardamagni would re-sign with the Javelinas, but didn't materialize until today when the club officially confirmed SION's reports.
Details were sketchy, though Los Lunas did say Guardamagni would be with the club 5 years beyond his current deal.
This season in 25 starts Donato Guardamagni has a record of 13-5 with 185 strikeouts in 163.1 innings and a 2.42 ERA.

 | Tuesday, September 25th, 1984: Gary Lippincott Out for 1-2 Weeks
After the end of today's game between Los Lunas and Mississippi, Gary Lippincott skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after making a defensive play, the Javelinas had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The right fielder will miss at least 1-2 weeks with a blurred vision.
Lippincott currently has a .210 batting average with 113 hits, 9 homers, 59 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has walked 100 times and compiled a .331 OBP.

 | Friday, September 14th, 1984: Closson Will Miss 8 Months
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Gary Closson of the Javelinas knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Denver Bulls while throwing a pitch. Diagnosed as a ruptured tricep tendon, the Los Lunas reliever is expected to miss 8 months. Closson was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
On the year, Closson has recorded 8 saves with a 2-4 record over 63.2 innings. He has mowed down 56 batters on strikes and walked 32 with an ERA of 2.83.
