| Breaking News | | Sunday, August 5th, 1984: García Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Cisco García of the Erie Roadrunners had one of those moments when he went 5 for 7 at the plate today in the 23-5 win over the Rockville Redhawks at Legions Ballpark.
The 19-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
C. García singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Bulls skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
López finished the game with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Héctor made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This season López has gone 7-7 with an ERA of 2.98, posting 116 strikeouts in 126.2 innings. | | Sunday, June 3rd, 1984: 5-Hit Game for Cook It was a sensational day at the plate for Jared Cook as he led the charge to a 24-11 win over the Patriots.
The Erie right fielder was pure misery for the Lowell pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Patriots told SION reporters after the game, "Cook put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
J. Cook singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
