| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, April 10th, 1985: Season Over for Ito in Auburn
The doctors have spoken and Takejiro Ito of the Auburn Venom didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ito sustained his season-ending injury during the Battle Creek Flakes game yesterday at Expositions Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Auburn medical staff reported Ito had an arthritic elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12-13 months.

Yoriyoshi Rin was firing on all cylinders in the month of July with 6 wins as he steamrolled all Import League AA opposition on his way to the Pitcher of the Month award.
Last month Rin chalked up these stats:
6-0 record, 2.66 ERA, 6 GS, 44 IP, 37 HA, 11 BB, 28 K, .228 OBA.
Season to date Rin has rung up 7 wins and 1 loss in 9 appearances. He has an ERA of 2.57 and has fanned 45 batters in 63 innings.

 | Friday, July 6th, 1984: O'Rourke on Fire, 5-6 Against Camden
Charlie O'Rourke really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Expositions Ballpark, the Auburn second baseman blistered the Camden Sand Tigers for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 14-3 victory.
"O'Rourke was too tough to get out today," the Sand Tigers skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
C. O'Rourke singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
So far this year O'Rourke has no home runs and a .312 batting average.
