| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 9th, 1984: DLAA Trophy Goes to Jones of Mohave Valley
Julián Jones has been in a real groove lately. The 21-year-old Mohave Valley Dust Devils third baseman nabbed Domestic League AA Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week.
Jones's hot streak featured 8 hits in 18 at-bats, 4 home runs, 6 RBIs, 5 runs scored and a .444 average.
Presently Jones is batting .254 and has collected 4 home runs, 14 RBIs, 7 walks, a .302 OBP and scored 16 runs.

Dave Hinnant of the Mohave Valley Dust Devils blanked Frisco 7-0 on 6 hits. He rang up 2 strikeouts, keeping batters off balance all day long.

Yoriyoshi Kichida of Buffalo easily handled the Mohave Valley Dust Devils, stopping them on 5 hits and chucking a complete game 4-0 shutout.
"He really did a job on us," said the Mohave Valley manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."
Kichida said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big."
He finished the game with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing.
Up to now Kichida has recorded a record of 1-1. In 5 starts he has fanned 8 batters in 26 innings with a 4.50 ERA.
