| Breaking News | | Sunday, April 14th, 1985: Ojea Dominates Patriots in Shutout The Buffalo Red Wings posted a 12-0 shutout over Lawrence today on the strength of a strong performance by Carlos Ojea. The Red Wings pitcher held the Patriots to 5 hits while walking 3 and fanning 6 in the route-going win.
| | Friday, August 10th, 1984: Bunch of Base Hits for Riot Mongrain Samuel Mongrain really did a number on the Patriots in the Richmond 9-4 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Samuel Mongrain did just that today for the Riot and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 23-year-old second baseman said after his record-setting performance.
S. Mongrain singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This year Mongrain has 2 home runs and a .349 batting average. | | Tuesday, May 29th, 1984: Hits Galore! Worboys Drills 5 Hits! Somedays you can't win for losing. Just ask Ken Worboys. He was the King of Swing in the game against the Patriots, but his Riot were beaten 12-10 anyway.
The Richmond right fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Lawrence and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great on the one hand, but a downer at the same time. What a day! 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average. But it's a shame we couldn't win it, too."
K. Worboys singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
In the 1984 campaign Worboys has hit at a .335 clip with 29 RBIs, 4 home runs and 31 runs scored. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 1-6, .143 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 4.0 GB | | Record at home | 1-2, .333 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-4, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 1-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-5, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 1-1, .500 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-6, .143 PCT | | Record in April | 1-6, .143 PCT |
