After the Richmond 10-3 victory over Silver City and his 5-hit day center fielder Larry Fitzsymons told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Ballpark of El Paso with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Silver City Outlaws.
The skipper of the Rams spoke glowingly of Fitzsymons, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Larry did that to perfection today."
L. Fitzsymons singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
