The 27-year-old Flushing pitcher thanked fans, his coaches and the voters for the honor...despite the fact that he deserved much of the credit himself.
Asua's star burned bright last month as he made 16 relief appearances, notching 3 saves and 21 strikeouts in 27.2 innings. He held enemy hitters to a .238 average to put up his 4-0 mark and 0.98 ERA.

Asua has rung up 49 strikeouts, surrendered 20 walks and fashioned a 1.83 ERA. | | Tuesday, June 5th, 1984: Morales Sidelined for 2 Months After the end of today's game between Flushing and New York, Ronaldo Morales skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the Chiefs had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The reliever will miss at least 2 months with a bone chips (elbow).
So far this season, in 19 games Morales has compiled an ERA of 4.10.
