| Breaking News |  | Monday, November 12th, 1984: Outstanding Pitcher Award Goes to Maine Hurler Teagan Corrigan of the Maine Guides is in the spotlight today. He was acclaimed the best pitcher in the Domestic League and will be honored with the 1984 Outstanding Pitcher Award.
He started 34 games and compiled a 19-6 record with an ERA of 2.26 in 243.1 innings with 212 strikeouts. |  | Monday, October 29th, 1984: Maine Beats Philadelphia in Brewmaster's Championship The Guides earned their 3rd Brewmaster's Championship title and now get to spend all winter basking in glory, while the beaten Freedom will have many sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.
Maine is the Brewers League Baseball Champions for 1984. They did it with a 8-0 triumph to capture the series 4-2.
"Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," the winning manager said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits."
The Philadelphia skipper agreed with that assessment and added, "We were a little weak on fundamentals at crucial times. I have a sneaky suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring."
On the way to the Brewmaster's Championship championship, the Guides ended up in first place in the Domestic League Ale Division and compiled a 102-60 record during the regular season. |  | Monday, September 24th, 1984: DL's Top Player, Cuevas of Maine Cuevas swung a blistering bat last week for the Maine Guides, rapping out 14 hits in 26 at-bats against Maine opponents to propel himself to the Domestic League Player of the Week Award.
Whenever the right fielder hit the ball, he hit it with authority. The 29-year-old racked up a .538 batting average (14-26) with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
For the season, Cuevas is hitting at a .262 clip with 15 home runs, 77 RBIs and has scored 96 runs.
