| Breaking News | | Monday, April 22nd, 1985: Star of the Week Awarded in DLAAA 23-year-old Evan Linklater sent shock waves through BLB Triple A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Domestic League AAA Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Linklater made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .483 average, 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run and 3 runs batted in.
Where the Portsmouth Atlantics left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Linklater certainly made his mark last week.
| | Saturday, April 13th, 1985: Krieger Bewilders Atlantics in Shutout Lanny Krieger was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Atlantics. He shut them out 7-0 on 4 hits with 9 strikeouts and 6 walks.
The Boulder City manager said, "Lanny was very aggressive tonight. He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
The losing manager had praise, too. "He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well. Krieger has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that offspeed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
