Leonardo Velunza and Wilmington have come to an agreement keeping the catcher in a Wildcats uniform for another 1 year.
The deal is worth $2,280,000 and a formal press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow.
Looking at his all-time stats, Velunza has a career .267 average with 659 hits, 114 doubles, 10 triples, 62 home runs and 295 RBIs to date. He has scored 288 runs, walked 218 times and stolen 0 bases.

It's been a year of triumph for veteran Cesaro Campoveroe of the Wilmington Wildcats as he hit his way to the 1984 Import League Outstanding Hitter Award.
The 30-year-old veteran compiled a .332 average and .448 on-base percentage by putting together 183 hits, 29 doubles, 6 triples, 25 home runs and 116 walks. He also scored 124 times and drove in 103 runs.

League officials announced today that Dani Álvarez of the Wilmington Wildcats has been selected the 1984 Newcomer of the Year Award in the Import League.
The talented first baseman finished his first year batting .292 with 28 home runs, 146 RBIs and 88 runs scored.
