The topic de jour around Wilmington is whether Cesaro Campoveroe of the Wildcats will suit up for today's contest. He was injured yesterday against the Tobs while running the bases. The standout 30-year-old left fielder has a sprained ankle and didn't rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury.
"Cesaro will play if he can," said the team doctor. "He hasn't got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible."
Currently Campoveroe has 20 home runs and a .323 batting average. | |
