Brewers League Baseball News Article | | | Monday, September 3rd, 1984: Bing Sidelined for 8 Weeks It took the Washington team doctor a while to realize it, but left fielder Steve Bing won't simply play through his inguinal hernia, after he got hurt running the bases in today's Wildcats-Bats game. At first, it looked like Bing might be back as early as tomorrow, but now it looks like the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 8 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Bing as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
So far this season Bing is batting .249 with 13 home runs, 54 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 109 hits in 438 at-bats, 50 walks and a .328 OBP. Bing has played in 128 games. | |
