He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Pittsburgh catcher slammed them for a .500 average, 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs. In the postgame press conference, Clapp shared his hitting philosophy with the SION scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them...nothin' more than that."
In 1984 Clapp is hitting .282 with 98 hits, 10 home runs, 48 RBIs, 27 walks, .337 OBP and has scored 47 runs. | |
