He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Davenport Brawlers. Houck smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 4-3 win.
His manager said, "Shelby was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
S. Houck singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off M. Oliver in the 9th.
Houck has collected 109 hits for the Mohawks this year, 5 of them home runs. He has also netted 42 RBIs and scored 44 runs while batting .280. | |
