 | Saturday, August 18th, 1984: Playboys Lose Romano Rodenas
The Windy City Playboys will lose the services of catcher Romano Rodenas after he sustained a scratched cornea while being hit by a pitch in today's game against the Hyundai Dinos. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Rodenas said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 2 weeks.
This year Rodenas is hitting .269 with 6 home runs and 25 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .352 clip, walked 29 times and scored 32 runs. | |
