Brewers League Baseball News Article | | | Thursday, August 9th, 1984: Carolina's Nino Out 2 Weeks It took the Carolina team doctor a while to realize it, but first baseman Vincent Nino won't simply play through his bruised cheekbone, after he got hurt colliding with a player at a base in today's Wildcats-Tobs game. At first, it looked like Nino might be back as early as tomorrow, but now it looks like the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Nino as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
During the current season Nino is batting at a .320 clip with 19 home runs and 67 RBIs. He has played in 108 games and scored 66 times. | |
