 | Monday, July 30th, 1984: Maine-Syracuse Swap: Samala for Tomeli
The Maine Guides have finalized a deal with the Syracuse Slammers for the services of 27-year old catcher Niguel Tomeli and a 8th round draft pick. In exchange, the Slammers will receive 33-year old catcher Joe Samala.
This year Samala has 2 home runs and a .312 batting average.
This season Tomeli is batting .210 with 61 hits, 3 home runs, 32 RBIs, 22 walks, .263 OBP and has scored 35 runs. | |
